What is BLK Girl Magic? BLK Girl Magic can't be defined in one post, or even experienced with a short span of knowledge. BLK Girl Magic is the fabric of our error. Although I identify as a Woman, I'm old enough to know better, and young enough to learn!
Ever since a young child I dreamed that I would see my image and reflection in my communities, and businesses, but it was not the case. I did not have a image or place to belong in this world.
It was as if it were stolen from my reach, as I watch YT women, take center stage in everything, as if my blck ass was not beautiful enough for the standard to match who we were as young girls.
BLK GRL MAGiC, is the power we all know and use, for the purpose to survive. Survival, is definitely required when the odds are against you, in a system designed to suppress our gifts and abilities. BLK GRL MAGIC knows how to turn Lemons into lemonade. BLK GRL MAGIC, is not a term to mean we are some witchy group, or a group that identifies with BLK MAGIC. Let's get one thing straight, this site is for the elevation and empowerment of BLK women and to highlight the accomplishments of our era. There is a way to define the essence that is determined by our power as BLK Women, "Make Me BLK Over", is a theme we came up with as the BLK GRL MAGIC Community.
We are redefining our existence, by choosing to live and create in spaces where we are accepted for who and what we are. Racism is the founding energy of America. This country will never accept the fact that we have gifts and talents, if they do its normally for purposes that require us to be a sell out, or not fully express ourselves authentically. BLK GRL MAGIC uses the courage and strength behind the pain, suffering, and tears, and allows for BLK Women to create ways to survive and do this, where we forget sometimes there is even a problem, because like Magic, our problems disappear, when we act sovereign in our identity.
